Saudi Arabia’s Jameel Motors to sell electric vehicles in UK

Saudi Arabian mobility provider Jameel Motors has signed an agreement with a Chinese manufacturer to distribute electric commercial vehicles in the UK.
Farizon Auto, which is based in Zhejiang, manufactures zero-emission vehicles, including trucks, light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and buses.
The deal between Jameel Motors, owned by Saudi Arabia’s Abdul Latif Jameel Group, and Farizon Auto to sell vehicles in the UK is part of a wider distribution partnership which spans 11 countries with a combined population of more than 450 million.

According to Direct Line insurers, there were 4.5 million LCVs on Britain’s roads at the end of 2022.
There has been a recent increase in demand for battery electric vans within the UK’s wider LCV market.
Andy Carroll, country manager for Jameel Motors, said: “Bringing competitive, innovative zero-emission commercial vehicles to the UK will offer a compelling option to businesses and fleets embracing the growing movement to transition to zero-emission commercial vehicles.”
