SAL Logistics Zone in Falcon City will cover more than 1.5 million square metres and will be developed at a cost of SAR4 billion ($1 billion), the companies said in a joint statement on Tuesday. The logistics hub is designed to meet the rising demand for customised warehouses, offering a location near King Khalid International Airport and major highways and rail networks, said Omar bin Talal Hariri, chief executive officer of Sal Logistics Services. These advantages position the logistics zone as a central hub for cargo handling and distribution operations, strengthening Saudi Arabia’s role as a global trade and logistics leader, he added. The project aims to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce operational costs, and draw major global companies to invest in the kingdom’s logistics sector. Falcon City covers 14.4 million square metres and will host key infrastructure components, including the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center, an advanced logistics zone for global enterprises, an aviation runway, and aircraft maintenance facilities. The project will also include commercial, residential, hospitality, entertainment, and retail zones.
