Majlis Premium Arabian Ale, which is alcohol free, has been developed by a company called Midtown Factory, using many ingredients found in regular beer. Arabian Ale contains malted barley from Austria and Germany, and hops from the EU, US and Australia, but the yeast is non-acoholic. UAE authorities have certified the ale as halal. Some non-alcohol beers are brewed as regular beers first with the alcohol taken out afterwards. A beer may be considered halal if it has zero alcohol and no ingredients that are haram. In Islamic jurisprudence, haram is an act or item that is forbidden by God.
