Dubai Holding is a buyer of UK’s Nord Anglia schools

Dubai Holding, the personal investment portfolio of the ruler of the emirate, is among a group of companies that bought the UK school operator Nord Anglia Education for $14.5 billion.
Other investors include the Swedish investment group EQT and Neuberger Berman from the US.
Nord Anglia operates more than 80 schools in 33 countries, educating more than 90,000 students.

Andrew Fitzmaurice, CEO of Nord Anglia Education, said in a press statement this week that the new owners would bolster academic programmes, enhance research and innovation and support the company’s global expansion plans.
Nord Anglia’s school in Dubai, which was rated outstanding in the latest inspections by the emirate’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority regulator, caters to about 2,000 students and commands annual fees ranging from AED36,000 ($10,000) to AED75,000.
In education, Dubai Holding’s assets in the emirate include Dubai International Academic City, Dubai Knowledge Park, Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation and the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management.
The ruler of Dubai is Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
