Company Insights Oman Flour Mills OM0000001400 Food & Drink Oman Flour Mills Overview Oman Flour Mills was established in 1977 with a wheat milling capacity of 150 tonnes per day, and has over time increased this to 800 tonnes per day. In 1983 it set up animal feed milling operations with 300 tonnes per day capacity, which has now reached 1,500 tonnes. Oman Flour Mills sells its products under the brand names Dahabi, Barakat and Alpha. Over time it developed from being purely a milling company to a group with that operates in multiple industries, including fisheries, poultry and dairy, as well as animal feed. Through its Atyab Investments arm, it has partial or complete stakes in companies such as Atyab Food Industries, Atyab International Services, Atyab IFFCO Poultry, Modern Dairy Factory and Bio Products Oman. It also owns a stake in Oman Fisheries. Although it considers one of its main aims to be helping Oman’s domestic food security, Oman Flour Mills has also been working to increase its exports. In 2022, for example, it exported around 40,500 tonnes of flour, up from 32,400 tonnes in 2021. It aims to increase both its bulk output and that of its consumer retail brands such as its premium label, Dahabi. Beyond flour, Oman Flour Mills invests in research and development across a range of sectors such as antibiotic-free animal feed and the use of insects as a protein source.
