Emirates REIT Overview

Emirates REIT is a closed-ended investment company, the largest listed sharia-compliant real estate investment trust in UAE, as well as the first in the Middle East.

Founded in 2010, Emirates REIT’s seed investors include Dubai Islamic Bank, Tecom and Dubai Properties.

It was the first REIT to be listed in the Gulf region, on the Nasdaq Dubai in DIFC in 2014.

Emirates REIT invests principally in income-producing real estate in line with sharia principles. Its stated aim is to provide shareholders with a sharia-compliant income by maintaining stable dividend distribution and increasing shareholder value through accretive acquisitions, active asset management and capital appreciation.

Throughout the years, Equitative – the REIT manager of Emirates REIT – has looked after more than 1,900 properties in the UAE, only acquiring assets for Emirates REIT’s portfolio with a conservative and long-term view.

Emirates REIT currently manages 11 assets in the commercial, educational and retail sector, valued at more than $840 million. These include Index Tower, Office Park Dubai Internet City, Gems World Academy and Loft Offices.

Major shareholders include Dubai Islamic Bank, Vintage Bullion DMCC and Dubai Holding.
