Company Insights Arçelik Manufacturing Arçelik Overview Arçelik is a Turkish multinational manufacturer of household appliances. The company produces durable goods and their components. Its products include white goods, such as refrigerators, freezers, washing machines and dishwashers, and small home appliances. Arçelik was founded by Lütfü Doruk in partnership with Vehbi Koç in 1955. Arçelik produced its first washing machine in 1959 and its first refrigerator in 1960 at its manufacturing plant in Çayırova, Istanbul. The company is controlled by Koç Holding, Turkey’s largest industrial and services group. It went public on Borsa Istanbul in 1986. Arçelik has a presence in more than 100 countries, including China and the United States through its 13 international subsidiaries. It also has more than 4,500 branches in Turkey.
