The terminal area has expanded by 14 percent to cover 845,000sqm, adding 17 new boarding gates to reach 62, the Government Communications Office said in a statement. The new concourses (D and E) will boost flight connectivity and significantly reduce reliance on buses for passenger transport. The cost of the expansion was not given. He said the airport expansion will back Qatar Airways’ growing network, improve operational efficiency, and support economic diversification in line with Vision 2030. The concourses include advanced automated boarding systems and smart technology, facilitating quick travel document verification and reduction in passenger waiting times.
