State-owned Turkish Airlines flew 83.4 million passengers in 2024, up 2 percent annually, driven by its global expansion drive.

The flag carrier served 31.7 million international passengers, an increase of 6.4 percent year on year, as the number of destinations rose 4 percent annually to 352.

Overall, the load factor fell by 0.4 percentage points to 82.2 percent year on year last year. The load factor for international flights reached 81.8 percent and 85.8 percent for domestic flights.

The carrier transported two million tonnes of cargo and mail, an annual increase of 20.6 percent.

In December 2024, the airline carried 6.4 million passengers, a 5.3 percent rise from a year ago.  

Turkish Airlines has a fleet of 492 jets as of December 2024 and has 342 aircraft on order.

In November 2024, the airline said revenue rose 8 percent year on year in the first nine months of 2024 to $17 billion, driven by increased passenger numbers. However, net profit fell 3 percent annually to $2.7 billion during the period.

This month, transport and infrastructure minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said that passenger traffic at Turkish airports grew by 7.5 percent year on year to more than 230 million in 2024.
